How should a letter be laid out?

Street number and street name. Suburb. City. Post Code. Country (only if sending the letter overseas) Phone number (optional) Email address (optional)

Do you sign a letter on the left or right?

Your letter should end with a brief salutation followed by your signature (unless you're sending your letter as an email attachment) and your name. These should be on the left-hand side for an American letter, and on the right-hand side, directly below your address and the date, for a British letter.

Which side does sincerely go on?

Should the closing part, such as Yours sincerely, Dana Chan, be placed on the left side, or on the right side? The modern format is known as block style everything is flush left.

You can place it at the top of the page (top center or top right side), or you can put your address at the end of the letter after your signature and name, regardless of which format you use. If you are using block form, you can place the date on the left, in the center, or on the right.
