If you're accessing Turnitin through a Learning Management System (LMS), the paper ID can be found in the Feedback Studio. Select the information icon at the bottom of the Feedback Studio toolbar to view the paper information. The paper ID (referred to as Submission ID) can be found at the top of this list of items.
Look for the DOI (digital object identifier) on the PDF of the article or search for it on the Crossed.org website using the Metadata Search. Be aware that not all articles have a DOI. Locate the PDF of the article. Many publishers include the DOI along with other citation information on the first page of an article.
The Turnitin Self-Checker allows current students to check rough drafts of papers for plagiarism and proper citation. You can use the originality report generated by Turnitin to identify paraphrases or citations that need revision before your final draft is due.
Once a paper has been submitted to Turnitin, it is in the database forever.
You can check for plagiarism (before submitting your final papers) by using any alternative to Turnitin. Also, there is one more way to do the same as I can remember now. There are cases when accidental plagiarism have wasted several hours of a student.
Unfortunately, as a student, you cannot use Turnitin for free. Turnitin only makes its plagiarism prevention software available to universities and other institutions. If you're a representative of a university you can contact the sales department of Turnitin.
Your assignment grade will be in the top right-hand corner. If your instructor has left overall comments on your paper, you will find them in the Instructor Feedback menu. Select the instructor feedback icon to open the menu.
