How to edit the data source. On the Data menu, select a data source, and then select Edit Data Source. On the data source page, make the changes to the data source.
In the Data pane, right-click the calculated field and select Edit. In the Calculation Editor that opens, you can do the following: Edit the name of the calculated field. Update the formula. Click OK. The view updates to reflect the changes automatically.
In Tableau, select Analysis > Create Calculated Field. In the Calculation Editor that opens, do the following: Enter a name for the calculated field. When finished, click OK. The new calculated field is added to Measures in the Data pane because it returns a number.
Drag the field with the table calculation to the Data pane. A new calculated field will be automatically created. Right-click the new calculated field and select Edit. Edit the name to reflect the desired header label and click OK.
However, that doesn't mean you won't be able to edit your calculated/metadata column, please go to the List Settings > Columns > Find your calculated column and click on its name, it will redirect you to the column edit page, and you can edit the calculated column there.
