I have just been informed by my college that I can't use this format. After paying for it and working with it for months, they prefer I use a format with expandable boxes for each indicator. This is a user friendly method but my only difficulty as been that the only information I can add to the PDF is what fits in the fixed boxes. This would be a suggestion in the formatting of this PDF.

Why does my diploma not say my major?

The reason that most colleges do not list your major on your diploma is simply because it is technically incorrect to do so. Colleges are accredited to award generic bachelors degrees (B.A. or B.S.) only.

Does your diploma show your major?

If you receive honors distinction or have completed the general honors program, this will be noted on your diploma and transcript. Your degree major may now be reflected on the diploma, however, some concentration areas/cognate areas and all minors are NOT printed on the diploma but are listed on your transcript.

Does a diploma have your major on it?

Your diploma name, degree earned, honors earned (if applicable) and degree date are all listed on your diploma. Majors and minors are not listed on the diploma, but are listed in detail on your official transcript.

Do bachelor degree show your major?

The degree is a Bachelor in Arts or a Bachelor in Science. You concentrated in a particular subject, but that doesn't impact the name of the degree itself. There is some variation based on university and college within that, if applicable. Most engineering schools include the name of the major in the degree.

Diplomas reflect university honors (cum laude, magna cum laude, or summa cum laude) for undergraduate degrees. They do not reflect departmental honors. However, departmental honors, if earned, will be noted on your transcript. University honors are not granted to graduate degrees.

Do Latin Honors show up on diploma?

The Latin Honor designation will appear on your university diploma only, while the transcript will show “With Honors”.

Do diplomas have majors on them?

Your diploma name, degree earned, honors earned (if applicable) and degree date are all listed on your diploma. Majors and minors are not listed on the diploma, but are listed in detail on your official transcript.

What are the different graduation honors?

Most colleges award three tiers of honors (cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude) based on the college's own unique requirements. The determining factor is usually GPA, but college prerequisites for graduating with honors may also include completion of an honors thesis or early graduation.
