For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
The Contact header field is used to convey the other user about the address of the request originator. Once a Contact header field has been received, the URI can be cached and used for routing future requests within a dialog.
The Contact header basically contains the SIP URI of the caller, that the called party can use to send future requests to. That is, requests that belong to the same dialog, such as re-INVITE, BYE and ACK messages. In other words, it says where a party can be reached.
The Call-ID header field is mandatory in all SIP requests and responses. It is used to uniquely identify a call between two user agents.
A header is a component of a SIP message that conveys information about the message. It is structured as a sequence of header fields. ... Header fields are defined as Header: field, where Header is used to represent the header field name, and field is the set of tokens that contains the information.
The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) operates over UDP and TCP, among others. ... This extension defines a new parameter for the Via header field, called “report”, that allows a client to request that the server send the response back to the source IP address and port from which the request originated.
RFC 3261 — SIP: Session Initiation Protocol.
The P-Access-Network-Info header is a 3GPP-specific header and indicates to the IMS network over which access technology the UE is attached to IMS. In our example the access technology is GPRS. It also includes the Cell Global ID (CGI), which indicates the location of the user.
IMS Private Header (P-Header) Extensions are provided according to the recommendations of the 3rd Generation Partnering Project (3GPP), and the IETF. P-Header extensions are primarily used to store information about the networks a call traverses, including (but not limited to) security or call charging details.
The first and the most important header is the Request-Line, which contains the Request-URI. It allows us to route a SIP request directly to a Server. The response then follows the Via header. SIP Client and each proxy which wants to intercept the response adds itself into Via headers of the SIP request.
The Via header identifies the protocol name (SIP), protocol version (2.0), transport type (e.g. UDP or TCP), IP address of the UAC, and the protocol port (typically 5060) used for the request. This information allows the recipient of the request (a user agent server) to return SIP responses to the correct device.
