Click on Page Layout tab. In the ribbon, click on Watermark. A vertical scroll list of six watermarks will appear with a set of menu options below. From the menu options, select Custom Watermark.
Double-click in the header area to open the header pane. Then click on the watermark to select it. In the little dialog that opens, enter a name for your watermark.
Watermarks are in the graphics layer and usually attached to the header/footer. It is not possible to copy both the main text and the watermark in the same process. You can only copy one layer at a time.
Tip: If you want to convert text, Word Art, or a drawing object to a watermark, first save the object as a picture: Right-click the object, click Save as Picture, select the options you want, and then delete the object and reinsert it into your document as a picture.
