I have needed something like this to fill out legal forms instead of using a typewriter. I searched online and found this, then our attorney said this is what their office uses so we bought it. It is exactly what I needed. So thankful for it.

Employment Separation Letter Writing Tips: Mention the reason for your leaving, but do not mention the causes of it or the reasons behind it if your leaving is controversial or debatable. Go down memory lane by mentioning a few positive instances at work that made your friendship stronger.
Letter of Separation. A letter of separation is a document that is issued to an employee when they leave the current position they are in. The letter of separation lays out the terms of the separation, and usually thanks the employee for their hard work and dedication.
Economic changes, financial decisions, restructuring, redundancy, attrition, or a change in function may lead to this kind of separation from employment. Layoffs can happen to one or many employees at once, depending on the circumstances.
An employer can say that there is a separation of employment instead of using the words “terminate” or “fire.” Although it still means that the employee no longer works for the employer, it does not sound as harsh or carry the negative connotations for the employee.
Separation is a situation when the service agreement of an employee with his/her organization comes to an end and employee leaves the organisation. In other words, separation is a decision that the individual and organization part from each other.
Separation notices must be provided if an employee is fired, laid off, or quits. Furthermore, even though most employees are at-will and can be fired at any time with or without cause, an employee cannot be terminated for an illegal reason.
The following states require that employers provide written notice of separation (discharge, layoff, voluntary resignation) to a departing employee: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee.
An Employment Separation Certificate is used to ensure we pay our customer the right amount from the right date. It lets us know when an employee no longer works for you, or has reduced their hours. If requested, you'll need to complete the certificate within 14 days. You can do it online or use a paper form.
