A Travel Consent Letter is used when a child is traveling alone, with only one parent/legal guardian, or with an authorized group. This document notifies authorities or other interested parties that a parent or legal guardian has given their consent for the child to travel without them.
I/We (insert name of parent or parents) consent to allow my child/children (insert names and ages of children) to travel with their grandparents (insert names of grandparents) to (insert general travel destination or destinations) during the period from (insert date of departure) to (insert date of return).
Domestic Travel Documents and Identification Thankfully, grandchildren won't need any ID for domestic road trips with grandparents. In addition, airlines and trains don't usually require any form of ID for children under 18 for domestic travel. Still, it's never a bad idea to bring some ID anyway.
If you are travelling with children and are not their parent, it may be wise to bring a letter of consent from the child's parents. These are useful if grandparents are taking grandchildren abroad, or for divorced parents where one is taking the child abroad alone.
Begin with a direct statement clearly stating the letter's purpose. Include the full names of yourself, your child, and the person you are granting permission to. If the child has another custodian or parent, write the letter together if possible.
Step 1: Identify the Parties. Step 2: Determine the Use. Step 3: Define the Information. Step 4: Scope of Obligation. Step 5: Exclusions. Step 6: Determine the Term. Step 7: Sign and Date. Step 8: Get It Verified and Authorized.

A Child Travel Consent form (sometimes called a letter of permission to travel) provides proof that a child has permission to travel without both (or either) legal guardians present. If a child is crossing borders alone or with an adult who isn't their legal guardian, they need a consent letter signed by both parents.
If a child (under the age of 18) is traveling with only one parent or with someone who is not a parent or legal guardian, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) strongly recommends that the accompanying adult have a note from the non-traveling parent (or, in the case of a child traveling with neither parent, a note

The original passport should be shown to the check-in Supervisor, to verify the signature authenticity. In cases where one of the parents is deceased, photocopy of the death certificate should be given.
Date of writing the letter. Address of the Visa Application Center. Name of employee/student. Name of supervisor/academic adviser. Address and contact information of supervisor/academic adviser. Paragraph stating that the company or university has no objections to the travel.
In order to prevent international child abductions, Mexican law requires that minors traveling without their parents, or with only one parent, present proof that they have their parents' authorization for travel. They should carry a notarized letter from the absent parent or parents authorizing travel into Mexico.
Besides a passport and possibly a travel visa, it may be required to prove that both of the child's parents or the child's legal guardian has given their permission for the child to travel. They must carry a letter from the parents authorizing travel into Mexico.
U.S. and Canadian citizens do not need a visa to travel in Mexico, but they do need an FMM tourist permit. Who needs an FMM tourist permit? All U.S. and Canadian citizens over the age of two, without a Mexican temporary or permanent resident card, need to obtain an FMM tourist permit when entering Mexico.
