The forms look much more professional when filled out in this manner, rather than a hand written form. Especially since typewriters are out of date. Thank You

For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
The law states that the only criminal convictions that prevent people from fostering are those that relate to an offense against children or a sexual offence. Minor offenses should not count against you in your application to foster.
All applicants to become a foster parent along with each member of the household are subjected to a background check in order to be approved and licensed. The Child Welfare Information Gateway (WIG) states that criminal background checks are federally mandated for all prospective foster families.
This criminal record check at CPS will include information such as: Offenses against a person. Offenses against a family. Public indecency.
CPS runs a background check on all prospective foster parents, adoptive parents, and kinship caregivers in all states. A comprehensive background check typically includes: State criminal and sex offender registries. State child abuse and neglect registries.
Some for a little while, some for far too long. And each one is a reason why foster care is worth it. Each child is in need of love and fun and a safe place to call home. No matter how good the foster parents, being placed in the home of strangers is frightening.
They want to parent their children well. They want their families intact. They love their kids and their kids love them, and this is a relationship you want to support. After all, the primary goal of foster parenting is reunification: to send children home to their families.
How Long Does It Take to Become a Foster Parent? The time it takes to become a foster parent varies for everyone. Typically, the licensing process can take anywhere from three to six months or longer. It would be difficult to complete everything in less than three months, but it's not necessarily impossible.
The home study process, which can take between three and six months to complete, may seem invasive or lengthy. However, more often than not, agencies are looking for ways to rule families in rather than rule them out.
The home study is a written record of your life that typically includes your personal background, family history, health and financial information, and parenting plan. It also includes a home visit and some interviews with a social worker (more information at What is a Home Study?).
The need for more foster homes in our country is great, and becoming a foster parent is not a very difficult thing to do. Simply phone a local foster family agency, and tell them you are interested in becoming a foster parent. They'lll take it from there. They need you, and the children need you.
Foster Care Payment Eligibility and Rates Residential child caring institution (non-profit) — Foster care payments range from $130 to $400 per day. Independent Living (child's own residence) is available for certain youths ages 16 and older — An independent living allowance is provided.
Foster parent licensing requirements Basic requirements and qualifications include applicant(s) being at least 18 years of age. The applicant(s) must attend an orientation, submit an application packet, followed by pre-approval training, and become certified in CPR and first aid.
REQUIREMENTS & PROCESSES. Foster parents must be at least 21 years old, pass background clearances, and be in good physical health. WHO ARE THE CHILDREN? Children aged birth to 21 may need foster care for just a few days, or may be in placement for longer than a year. You can make a difference in the life of a child.
Although you will not be able to specifically choose the child you foster you are able to choose the age and gender that you prefer. You are also able to call the social worker at any time if you feel that you are not able to provide for the child you get placed with.
