For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Names, contact information, and dates. The full names of both parties should appear at the beginning, and also throughout, any contract. Your role. Payment information. Deadlines. Ownership. Confidential information. Independent contractor terms. Limitation of liability.
If you're working freelancing platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, Guru and such, you don't need a contract. They'll do that part for you. But if you're working outside, you should definitely think about it at least. The main purpose of a contract is to protect both you, the freelancer and the other party, the client.
A freelance contract is much similar to, but more than that. Simply put, you create a freelance contract to have something solid to refer to when clients try to ask you work outside the scope of the project or when they try to change the project into something entirely different from what you agreed upon.
Your contract should dictate payments, deadlines, deliverables, and anything else having to do with the client/freelancer relationship. Both of you should sign this and have a deposit paid before ANY work is done (if you require one). Contracts are put in place to protect ALL parties, not just the freelancer.
The main difference between contractors and freelancers is that contractors only work for one client at a time, whereas freelancers will generally work on multiple projects for more than one client. The amount that freelancers charge for their services will depend on their area and the work involved.
