For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Initials are 2 or 3 letters of a person's name that are in chronological order; first name, followed by middle name, and then ending with the last name. A monogram is those same 2 or 3 letters, with the exception that you reverse the middle and last name.
If you have multiple middle names, start your monogram with your first name initial. Follow this with your middle name initials, and end with your last name initial. All the initials should appear at the same size.
Monogram. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. A monogram is a motif made by overlapping or combining two or more letters or other grapheme to form one symbol. Monograms are often made by combining the initials of an individual or a company, used as recognizable symbols or logos.
The first letter of your name is your initial. The first thing you say to someone is your initial greeting. Initial is something that occurs first or at the beginning. If someone asks you to initial a form, they're asking you to sign by writing your initials on it.
Start with the double name initials stacked. Then the married name initial in the center, followed by the maiden name initial. The double name initials when stacked should be the same size as the maiden name initial. The married last name initial (center) will be the largest.
When only doing a single letter monogram, the obvious choice is the first letter of first name or if for a family name, the first letter of the last name. For most women, regardless if married or not, it will always be a three letter monogram.
Monogram & Initials: What's the Difference in Engraved Gifts? Initials are 2 or 3 letters of a person's name that are in chronological order; first name, followed by middle name, and then ending with the last name. A monogram is those same 2 or 3 letters, with the exception that you reverse the middle and last name.
initials in a name When a person uses two initials and a last name, a space should be inserted between the initials. A space also should be inserted between the last initial and the last name. But, no space between two-letter abbreviations (i.e., U.S., P.O.).
Monogram rules for three letters Traditionally, the first letters of their first, last and middle name are used, in that order. For couples, if they share their last name, the last name remains in the middle with the initials of their first names on the left and right side.
Initials require no periods when someone has come to be known by initials alone (JFK, LBJ, etc.). Mary Jane is MJ. However, formal manuscripts probably need the periods. But if you're following Chicago, you also want a space between the initials: O. J.
Using Punctuation: Period with Initials and Abbreviations. A period should be placed after an initial and after most abbreviations. Note: When an abbreviation is the last word in a sentence, do not add a second period.
St with or without a period is a standard abbreviation for Street. Technically, a period (in American English) is the more correct, formal rendition. But it appears without the period everywhere, perhaps more often than with the period (at least on cards).
initials in a name When a person uses two initials and a last name, a space should be inserted between the initials. A space also should be inserted between the last initial and the last name. But, no space between two-letter abbreviations (i.e., U.S., P.O.).
Periods are frequently, but not always used, after initials and with two-letter abbreviations (U.S.). Declarative sentence: Harry S Truman did not use a period after his middle initial. When used in email and Web addresses, periods are pronounced “dot" (wmich dot edu).
