In 1842, an English photographer, chemist and astronomer named John Herschel discovered that combining ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide created a chemical reaction and a compound called blue ferric ferrocyanide (or Prussian blue).
Paper: 20 lb, 24 lb and 32 lb papers are commonly used for blueprint printing, and they are suitable for both black and white and color printing.
Vellum paper has an ivory or frosted quality. It is semi-translucent relative to its thickness, and it is available in semi-gloss and matte finishes. Vellum paper is a modern support chiefly used for tracing technical drawings, plans, and maps.
