Display or Hide the Formula Bar in Excel Open your spreadsheet and click on the File menu. Next, click on Excel Options and move to the Advanced tab. Scroll to the Display section.
To use the formula bar to view information, click on a cell and look at the formula bar to see what is has written in it. To use the formula bar to enter information, click on the cell and then the formula bar to begin writing. Cells with words and numbers will show the same information both in cell and formula bar.

Take a close look at formula bar which is freakishly big! Go to Excel options > General tab > under when creating new workbooks change the font size to any you like to see in the formula bar suppose 22. Default size is 11. Click OK.
If you want to show the Formula Bar, check the Formula Bar option; if you want to hide the Formula Bar, uncheck it. Note: You can also get this Show Formula bar option by clicking the File (or Office button) > Options > Advanced > Display > Show Formula bar.
