How do I submit an absentee ballot?
You register to vote and request an absentee ballot by filling out the Federal Post Card Application (FCA), and sending it to your election office in your State of legal residence.
The election office approves the FPCA, disapproves the FCA or requests additional information.
Where do I mail my absentee ballot application?
Complete the absentee ballot request form*.
Once you have completed your application by providing all the required information print and sign it.
Mail the request form back to your own county board of elections.
Can you vote in person after requesting an absentee ballot?
Even if you receive your vote-by-mail ballot, you can change your mind and vote at a polling place on Election Day. To do so, you can: Then bring the sealed envelope to any polling place in your county, or to your county elections office between a.m. and p.m. on Election Day.
How do absentee ballots get counted?
Know that your absentee ballot counts the same as ballots cast at the poll site. All ballots submitted according to State laws are counted in every election. However, all ballots, including absentee ballots, are counted in the official totals for every election — and every vote (absentee or in-person) counts the same.
How does early vote work?
Early voting. Early voting (also called pre-roll voting or advance polling) is a process by which voters in a public election can vote prior to the scheduled election day. Early voting can take place remotely, such as via postal voting, or in person, usually in designated early voting polling stations.
Can I drop off my mail-in ballot at any polling place?
If you were unable to mail back your early ballot in time, you can skip the line and turn it in at any polling location within your county. The poll workers will be able to assist and show you where to drop off your early ballot.
Can someone else drop off my absentee ballot?
You can mail it or send it using a delivery service, such as UPS. Or you can drop it off yourself or ask someone else to drop it off at your local elections office. In this case it has to be dropped off by p.m. on Election Day. If someone else drops it off for you, they can't deliver more than 3 people's ballots.
Who is allowed to vote using an absentee ballot in WI?
Any qualified elector (U.S. citizen, 18 years of age, who has resided in the district in which he or she intends to vote for at least 10 days) who registers to vote is eligible to request an absentee ballot.
Can you still vote early in Wisconsin?
Under Wisconsin law, voters do not need a reason or excuse, such as being out of town on Election Day, to vote absentee.
